Brian Barnett’s reputation as the “space drummer” comes from an unusual career that combines space‑industry entrepreneurship with professional musicianship.  Barnett is a classically trained rock drummer and percussionist who began studying the drums at age eight and had his first stage performance at age ten.  Over the years he performed with multiple rock and reggae bands and even served as a percussionist for the Huntsville and Galveston Symphony orchestras.  He studied under renowned timpanist Fred Hinger and later formed the DrumsAstro production company, a venture that promotes live drum performance and trip‑hop/space music.  Barnett continues to perform and produce new music through DrumsAstro, maintaining a lifelong passion for drumming.
